Latest Devils Lake Fishing Report 8-24-21

Fishing remains solid leading into the fall...

Weather has cooled down to mid to upper 60’s. While cooler temps often mean poor fishing, that's just not the case.

Fishing still remains good. We are catching fish trolling cranks, bottom bouncer and spinners and even slip bobbers and vertical jigging. I have also heard of guys picking fish up casting.

Depths range all over the board. From 6 ft. to 25 ft.

The way things are looking it’s going to be a great fall. We still have a few openings in September and October. So now is the time to get your last minute trip in.

Devils Lake is HOT right now!

The hot hot start to June warmed the lake up fast this spring.

Water temps in the 65 to 70 range has put the bite in full swing.

Catch them any way you want, literally. Bobbers on humps. Pitching jigs and cranks. Or bottom bouncers and spinners. Fish are from 2 feet to 20 feet and everywhere in-between.

We have very limited dates left this summer. Call or email ASAP if you want to get in on the action!

Big Fish Bite Is On!!!

The fishing on the Missouri River system has been really good since ice off. While some days are dynamite and others are much slower, but either way we've been grinding our fish each trip.

If you like to pitch jigs, this is the type of fishing you'll love! With the water temps just starting to warm, bigger females and large numbers of males are moving up the system. Expect to fish holes and find the fish vertically or laying up off of sandbars.

The trolling bite has been exceptionally good this year as well. Recently, the North Dakota state record walleye was caught out here! (16.39 lbs) And it came on a crankbait, so you can expect to get numbers and a few pigs fishing this way.

Weather is a bit cooler in the mornings, but most days, Mother Nature has been good to us (minus the wind at times).

The walleye action has been saving our days.

Perch are really hit and miss since the big cold front. Seems the schools are really small. You have to be on the spot, on the spot.

Walleye action remains solid. March is around the corner. This is typically when we get a few more Pike fisherman to come in. So I’m looking forward to that.

Reminder spring fishing is right around the corner. We are now taking bookings for the Missouri River Down Stream of Sakakawea. April is the month for a true trophy fish. I think the state record could be caught this spring. It seems every year someone gets really close. If your interested in a spring trip shoot me an email .

Duck Hunt in the Morning - Fish in the Afternoon

Fishing has been pretty good this fall, and most recently, it's been much better.

We've been trolling and jigging deep structure with good results. Lots of walleyes with a few other species mixed in.

Duck hunting has been pretty good, large numbers around the area.
