Perch Eyes Fishing Reports 2011

12/28/2011 Fishing Report
Fishing remains good! Walleyes are the most consistent and the perch are to follow. Each day the bite changes, some days tip-ups and some days jigging. The perch seem to move a lot but we hook up with them every few days. As you can see these customers from NE limited on walleyes and ended up with a dozen nice perch.

12/22/2011 Fishing Report
Well fishing remains very good. Walleye action is the most consistent this week. The perch seem to show up every couple days when you get on them they bite so that's a good thing. As you can see my WI. Customers took advantage of my Dec. Special and are very happy with there catch. We still have some openings this winter. Happy holidays to you all.

12/16/2011 Fishing Report
Fishing still remains good on the west end of the lake. The water is dirty and the fish seem to bite all day. The bite isnt bang bang but nice and steady all day. Structure for walleyes and flats for Perch. Heres a nice catch that my customers had today. one perch hit 2 pounds.

12/09/2011 Fishing Report
The Perch fishing remains good a lot of fish from 9 to 11 inches, not huge but great on the table. The walleye bite remains very good on the humps in 6 to 12 feet of water. On the west end of the lake we have 10 inches of ice and no snow yea! We do have a few openings yet this winter so don't wait to long to book your trip.

12/05/2011 Fishing Report
Can't believe how good the fishing is. We have a good 7 inches of ice and its cold cold cold so its stacking up. Here are a couple pictures from Dec. 5th and Dec. 4th. my wife and I had our Limit of Perch with in 2 hours and tonight the Dec. 5th I got a limit of nice eyes in 45 min. I hope the fishing stays good this winter. Any structure is holding the walleyes and any presentation is working they are just feeding and feeding hard. If anyone can make a trip out before Christmas I'll shoot you a heck of a deal.
Good Fishing to all.

11/30/2011 Fishing Report
We I said I would go Tuesday and Tuesday turned into Wednesday Morning. A buddy and I had our 10 walleyes in two hours. We lost a couple nice ones and tossed back a couple dinks. The ones we kept where 14 to 20 inches. We where fishing tip-ups tipped with fathead minnow. We also jigged Lindy rattling flyers tipped with a minnow head. We had a good 5 inches of Ice here on the west end. Looks like we have some colder weather coming in at the end of the week so we will be taking the wheelers out. It's looks to be setting up for a great ice fishing season. If you are interested in a early season fishing trip give me a call.
Good fishing to all.

11/28/2011 Fishing Report
Well the west and North ND of the lake is frozen over. Sunday I walked out about 3 hundred yards and had 6 inches of ice. So I'm going to scratch the itch on Tue. afternoon and go ice fishing. We do not have any snow yet, Thank God as some of you know the last two winters have been a mess with all the snow fall. But if mother nature deals those cards to us again we are ready for it. We still have two sets of tracks for our trucks and one set for my crew cab ranger. I will post another report after the first time out ice fishing.
Thanks

11/10/2011 Fishing Report
Well we had one of those awesome falls the weather was mild, the fishing and hunting was good. We are finally seeing that big push of Mallards with the cold weather this last week. Of course its late and we have no customers in at this time. I'm hopeing that mother nature is going to give us a break this winter on the snow fall. I have heard two reports. One is for a average snow fall and the other is double what we normally get. Time will tell. We are starting to get a little ice on the back bays of the lake and all the small sloughs are frozen up. If your thinking of a trip out this winter I would get on the ball we are about 50% booked so dont procrastinate. I'll keep you posted on the ice conditions.

9/25/2011 Fishing Report
Well the fall fishing has been really really good. It seems like the fish are every place you go. Deep, shallow and in between. Trolling lead core on road beds. casting shore lines. pulling spinners in 8 to 12 foot of water. slip bobber fishing. You name it and you can catch fish. This will be our last week of open water fishing. We switch over to waterfowl hunting. If you still want to get out fishing this fall let me know i know a couple good guides in the area that i could hook you up with.

9/08/2011 Fishing Report

Well its that time of year where we are fishing and hunting. Bow hunting started Sept. 1st and Rick shot this great 5x4 whitetail in full velvet at about 10 yards, great shot. Fishing still remains good also. Casting cranks along the shores is working well for nicer fish. You wont catch numbers but they are nice fish. The spinner bite using crawlers is still going strong. fishing windy shore lines in 8 to 12 foot of water is best and on top of old road beds. We still have a couple openings if you are interested.
Keep your lines tight.

7/20/2011 Fishing Report

Hot Hot Hot, Hot temps and hot fishing. 80 walleyes per day are not uncommon right now. You'll have to catch that many to get 15 keepers but what fun. Pulling spinners in 12 to 15 ft. of water seem to be best. Gold, Perch and minnow patterns have been best. The bobber bite on the west end (flats) has been really good around that 13 ft. range. Leeches and crawlers have been best.
Keep your lines tight

6/22/2011 Fishing Report

Is summer ever going to come? Looks like maybe this weekend. Fishing has been up and down along with the weather. When we have wind casting Lindy shadlings along the shore lines is working best. When it calms down bobber fishing in 12 foot of water or less is the ticket. I heard of some people starting get fish on the golden Hyw pulling spinners. One nice thing about this cool June the fishing will be good in July and Aug.
Keep your lines tight

5/29/2011 Fishing Report

Well the fishing has been good over all. If and when we get sun the fishing has been unbeatable. Most of the fish are between 18 and 24 inches. Casting plastics into the shallows is working the best. Crank baits are working good in the afternoons when the water warms up. Next week the fishing should really get good with the temps warming up.

5/10/2011 Fishing Report
Depending on where you are located on the lake depends on if the walleyes are spawning, spawned out or still hard. We had our first guide trip of the open water season two days ago and it went well. We boated 12 walleyes, 1 perch and 1 pike. All the walleyes had spawn in them. we released 5 fish over 24 inches and the biggest at 27 inches. So it was a fun filled afternoon. I would guess that these fish will be spawning in the next five days. Current areas are the place to be now. Just pitch jigs tipped with minnows or leaches and you'll do just fine. Early mornings and late afternoons pith rocky shorelines and road beds. We do still have a few openings this season so give us a call.

03/06/2011 Fishing Report
Hopefully the term come in like a lion and leave like a lamb is true. Our March has started out cold. The fishing on the other hand has been hot the last three day. Limits of Perch have been on the menu. The last three days it's taken 3 to 4 hours to get our limits, wow what fun I just hope it holds. Walleye action has been hit and miss. Some mornings are good and some just flat out suck. The pike fishing has been great. I had an old boy from Iowa get a 38 incher the other day. Well we have a ton of Ice and little snow to deal with so we should be fishing into April so there is still time to book a trip.
Good fishing.

02/15/2011 Fishing Report
Finally we got some warmer weather, in the upper 30's and even hit 40 two days now. It knocked some of our snow down to make travel a little easier these days. This weekend it's going to cool down a little bit and should stiffen the slush up. The Perch Fishing has been the most consistent bite we have had. on a average day we been getting 15 to 30 perch. Walleyes have been like a light switch on and off with no really good bites lately. The Pike fishing is starting to heat up up to this point it's been a slow go for them but it's looking good now. Keep you lines tight. We still have a little room in March if your looking at doing some ice fishing yet this winter.

01/25/2011 Fishing Report

Fishing is Up and down along with the weather. Front after front after front along with the full moon has made fishing spotty this last week. We are getting a lot of walleyes in deep water. You have to sort to get a good catch of eaters. The Perch are also hit and miss here one day gone the next. We do have two Suburbans on tracks and one Polaris Ranger on tracks so the snow isn't the issue. We have to pick and choose the areas we fish due to cracks and slush. Slush is no fun with tracks freezing up and breaking things. One thing with all the snow is I have not seen another fisherman in a week so we have no pressure this year. Well I better get back to fishing.  Be Safe.
